Cloutlayer Actor-Publication-Interaction Connector / Meta Platforms Privacy Policy

Cloutlayer ("we", "our", or "us") is committed to protecting your privacy and ensuring transparency in how we collect, use, and store data from Meta Platforms (Facebook and Instagram). This Privacy Policy outlines how our Facebook App interacts with Meta services, the types of data we collect, how we use that data, and the rights of our users.
1. Who Can Use the Cloutlayer Facebook App
The Cloutlayer Facebook App is available only to registered, subscribed users of the Cloutlayer platform. Access to the Facebook App is restricted and is not publicly available outside our authorized user base.
Users must explicitly authenticate the Cloutlayer Facebook App to grant access to their managed Facebook Pages and Instagram Business Accounts. No access is made without clear user consent.
2. What Information We Collect
After user authentication, Cloutlayer retrieves the following data, strictly through the Meta Graph API, and only from Facebook Pages and Instagram Business Accounts:
From Facebook Pages:
- Page posts (including message, ID, timestamp)
- Page comments (including message, ID, timestamp)
- Publicly available comment author info (e.g., display name, user ID, username — where permitted by Meta)
From Instagram Business Accounts:
- Media items (images, videos, captions, timestamps)
- Media comments (message, ID, timestamp)
- Publicly available comment author info (as permitted by Meta)
We do not access or store any private user data, friend lists, personal timelines, DMs, or other non-public Facebook or Instagram user information.
3. How We Use This Information
The data collected is used exclusively for the following purposes:
- Displaying social media publications and interactions within the Cloutlayer platform.
- Enabling users to filter and analyze their social media performance.
- Generating anonymous reports and aggregated statistics for internal analytics (e.g., volume of comments, engagement metrics).
- Supporting categorization/tagging (characterization) and content strategy optimization.
All personally identifiable data (e.g., display names, user IDs) are used solely for aggregation and analytics purposes and are never shared with third parties or disclosed in a way that could identify individuals.
4. User Rights and Data Ownership
- Users retain full ownership and control over the data accessed through their Facebook and Instagram accounts.
- Data access and processing occurs only after explicit user authentication and consent.
- Users may revoke permissions or disconnect the Facebook App at any time via the Facebook App settings or through the Cloutlayer interface.
- All analyses performed are anonymized to ensure that no individual users are profiled or targeted.
5. Data Security
We follow industry best practices to protect the data we process and store:
- Secure servers and encrypted communication.
- Limited internal access only to essential personnel.
- Regular audits and compliance with Meta’s Platform Policies and GDPR where applicable.
6. Data Sharing
Cloutlayer does not sell, rent, or share your data with third parties. Data is only used internally for providing platform features and analytics. We do not use your data for advertising or resell purposes.
7. Compliance with Meta Platform Terms
Cloutlayer complies fully with Meta’s Platform Terms and Developer Policies, including:
- Collecting only the data necessary to provide platform functionality.
- Not requesting or storing sensitive user information.
- Displaying only permitted data according to user roles and app scopes.
- Implementing clear and compliant data use policies for app review.
8. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy to reflect changes in our services or compliance obligations. Users will be notified of significant changes via the Cloutlayer platform.

- pages_read_engagement
- pages_read_user_content
- instagram_basic
- instagram_manage_comments
- public_profile (limited use for display name and user ID in comments)
We use these permissions exclusively for the use cases described above and do not exceed the scope allowed under Meta’s terms.
